Adoption Prices All my adoption fees are currently set up by individual litters, and they may vary here and there depending on the rarity of the traits in the said rats for adoption. I have decided to do it this way vs. just having a set price on my rats because I've worked really hard to get these rare traits, and some don't even exist outside of my rattery.
( Price does NOT include additional fees for spaying and neutering when required ) If prices are too expensive but you would still like a baby, Please contact me. A payment arrangement can be worked with. Being either 1/3 paid as a down payment, then the rest paid on pickup day. I do not require rats to go home in pairs!! There is a $10 Non-Refundable Down-Payment required for me to hold any rats in the Nursery. If you happen to decide not to want to be on the waiting list any longer after the babies are born this is fee is non-refundable, but if the babies are not yet born I will refund the money. But this may change in the future. Right now.. they are first come, first serve. but if there is a baby that you really like and would really like to have. A Deposit will be required for me to hold it for you until its weaned. All rats are ready to go home at 8wks of age, not sooner, I've found that holding on to my babies longer, has a greater effect on their personality and gives them extra time with mommy, seems to make for happier, healthier pets. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All adoption fees go right back into the rattery, to pay for food , bedding, and vet visits. I don't make a profit on my rats. The prices reflect the total care the rats get before they head home as they are weaned at 8wks of age. The average rat will eat $10 worth of food a week, and a rattery will average about $15 a week on bedding.. So you can see I barely if at all break even. -- Yes, I do charge different prices for rat types, this is because I have develop these rats in my rattery, and you won't find them in any other rattery but mine. "Mouse" Dumbo and Kinky, Are not in other ratteries to date in the state of NY or US. | Pickup Information As I have a closed rattery, Drop off (aka Pick up) can be arranged at a preset location, I usually like to meet at a PetSmart or PetCo. Since its easier, being that pets are allowed inside the stores. But please if I'm meeting you near a pet store DON'T go inside to buy anything for at least 15 days after you brought your baby home. This way you don't infect your baby with anything. And Please remember to bring your own box! I keep mine!!
For Delivery to your home, I can do this for no charge as long as its within 20mins from my place. This includes traffic and etc.. I don't mind waiting in traffic or etc. But if you live on the other side of town and my Mapquest states your 45mins away, be prepared to pay for gas, I charge $1 a minute over the 20min mark!!.. Gas isn't cheap anymore so this is only fair. If you have any questions about any of this Please email me!! Shipping Information I only ship through ONE Carrier.. I have a long extended partnership with them, and they have always came through with providing the best care for the animals!! They have always tried to keep the price of shipping fairly low. I only ship to approved breeders!!
( Minimum of 5 rats must be adopted for me to ship ) ( I may give discounts to good breeder friends, just ask! ) * This is the carriers fee, for them to send me all info on the shipping, packet and etc.. This is a mandatory fee and will be covered by the the buyer!! Insurance can be bought for $10 All cost must be paid for in Full before rats are to be shipped, I will not pay out of pocket!! I will send the total price for the shipping and etc a good week or so a head of time. I will then also include my Paypal account address to where all monies will be be sent , or you can pay via check! Remember: Shipping is cheaper for everyone if more then one breeder go in on the shipping. I don't mind housing 10-15 rats for shipment as long as they are pre-paid and you the breeder don't fall through the original plan. |
